About This Position

Purpose and responsibilities-
A shift leader is given the responsibility of a leadership role based on their ability to lead others, follow orders and delegate responsibilities to the other employees. Shift leaders are chosen on the basis of their experience, capacity level and interest in all the food court.

They are to assume the responsibility of managing the store in the absence of the manager or assistant manager.

They must understand and complete all checklists assigned to them. They may assume training of new employees if instructed to do so. Under no circumstances should a shift leader let an incorrect procedure go uncorrected by any employee at any time. Correct the problem and notify the manager.

A shift leader has the responsibility to make sure all standers and procedures established by Taco Time, Sinful Delights, and Blimpie, and the manager are being followed.

1. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

1. Communicate, read, write, and speak English.
2. Education: High school education, completed or working on, or GED.

1. Attention to detail. By nature, supervisory work is a detail
occupation, the little things count the most.

2. Patience. In order to train and lead, a supervisor needs to
have patience.

3. Ability to delegate. No supervisor can do it all. An
Essential part of supervision is the ability to delegate. In addition, employees need responsibility. It gives them job satisfaction.

4. Ability to organize. Shift leader must be able to organize their time and tasks as well as organize their staff’s time and tasks.
Overview of daily tasks-
1. Clean food court area and equipment.
2. Make good food in multiple venues
3. Clean dining area.
4. Sweep and mop floors.
5. Take out garbage.
6. Do not leave until everything is finished
7. Lead by example and be a good influence on team members.
This job description is not all-inclusive, and the shift leader should follow the instruction of the Food Court Manager, if that person if available or to the Manager on duty.
