Job description:

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Therapist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in speech therapy, with a focus on pediatric populations and early intervention strategies. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders across diverse patient groups. Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing functions using standardized tools and clinical observations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, including goals for speech improvement and functional communication.
  • Deliver engaging therapy sessions utilizing various techniques and modalities suitable for pediatric and early intervention populations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as physicians, occupational therapists, and educators to coordinate care plans and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and their families about speech and language development, strategies for improvement, and home practice exercises.
  • Monitor progress regularly, adjusting treatment approaches as necessary to ensure continuous advancement toward goals.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, progress notes, and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) from an accredited professional body.
  • Prior experience working with pediatric populations and in early intervention settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy related to speech production, and medical terminology relevant to speech therapy practices.
  • Proven ability to perform thorough patient assessments and develop effective treatment plans based on individual needs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate families and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with pediatric developmental milestones, speech therapy techniques, and patient care principles.
  • A degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited institution is required; additional certifications in pediatrics or early intervention are advantageous.
