Position Title: Software Engineering Co-Op (UCCS)

Description

Samtec is seeking a Software Engineering "Co-op" to work at our Colorado Springs, CO location.

Please only apply if you are a student currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelors degree in SW Engineering or a related field at alocalUniversity.(Colorado Spring, CO)

The schedule would be a minimum of twenty hours per week. Hours may vary but are flexible, ideally support is needed fromM-F 8AM - 6PM.Pay is $22.00 per hour. Co-ops are eligible to participate in our student program for tuition assistance. They may also opt to participate in Samtec's 401k plan.

Co-ops work on real projects with direct impact to the business. Youll work in collaboration with teams across the world, spanning many technologies. Co- ops at Samtec are immediately involved in business-critical situations and are challenged to achieve their goals. Computer Science co-ops at Samtec will have the opportunity to work in some of the most challenging and advanced areas where infrastructure systems, and software development meet key areas of manufacturing, engineering, and R&D.

Responsibilities:

  • Factory or Industrial Automation Integration and Upkeep
  • Business Intelligence and SPC Integration and Upkeep
  • Data Analytics
  • Design, develop, and maintain software systems (using .NET technologies in Windows) for the configuration and support of automated manufacturing and inspection systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Majoring in Computer Science or a relevant engineering degree.
  • Availability to work on-site a minimum of 20 hours per week during regular business hours while maintaining a full-time course load. (This is not a remote position.)
  • You must be available to commit to a minimum of 3 semesters.
  • Co-ops are required to maintain a C grade or above in all courses to maintain status in the program.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Education/ Experience/Desired Skills:

  • 1-2 years educational or professional programming experience
  • Proficient with Object Oriented Programming
  • Experience developing with at least one of the following languages: C#, Java, Python
  • Experience developing for the web and desktop
  • Desire to develop manufacturing automation systems
  • Agile Software Engineering and Project Management techniques
