This role provides an exciting opportunity to lead sales and business development for specialty and white oil products across a broad geographic region. You will manage complex client relationships, identify and develop new markets, and implement strategic sales plans that drive revenue growth. The role combines autonomy with cross-functional collaboration, working closely with technical teams, marketing, and operations to deliver innovative solutions to customers. You will analyze market trends, manage forecasts, and ensure contract and pricing strategies align with business goals. This position requires a strong balance of technical knowledge, commercial acumen, and exceptional communication skills. Frequent travel and engagement with key customers make this role highly dynamic and impactful.
Accountabilities:- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, distributors, and internal stakeholders to grow assigned product lines.
- Develop and execute long-term sales strategies and pricing plans for white oils and specialty products.
- Manage day-to-day sales objectives within assigned geography and industry segments, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, R&D, engineering, and operations, to support product approvals, new product development, and customer-specific solutions.
- Analyze market conditions, collect competitive intelligence, and identify new sales opportunities or emerging customer needs.
- Oversee contract negotiations, respond to RFIs/RFQs, and manage sales proposals and complex business transactions.
- Ensure accurate forecasting, account planning, and reporting using tools like Salesforce to track sales performance and opportunities.
Requirements:
- 510+ years of direct sales experience or relevant commercial experience, preferably in specialty chemicals, white oils, or technical products.
- Strong technical knowledge of petroleum products, petrochemicals, or specialty chemicals.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Science, or Engineering; MBA is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans and achieve business objectives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce, SAP, or Power BI is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple high-level assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to operate independently, with strong crisis management skills and decision-making capabilities.
- Willingness to travel extensively (minimum 50%), with preference for candidates residing near an international airport in the Northeast US.
