Job Description:
Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking an experienced HVAC Facilities Support Specialist to provide operational and technical support. This role supports facility operations by monitoring, maintaining, and assisting with HVAC systems and related building infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong HVAC experience and the ability to coordinate with repair staff, contractors, and the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) to ensure uninterrupted facility operations.

Job Description:
Dobbs Defense Solutions is seeking an experienced HVAC Facilities Support Specialist to provide operational and technical support. This role supports facility operations by monitoring, maintaining, and assisting with HVAC systems and related building infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong HVAC experience and the ability to coordinate with repair staff, contractors, and the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) to ensure uninterrupted facility operations.
Duties:
- Assist repair staff in assessing facility issues and relaying relevant history regarding service concerns.
- Respond to service calls involving HVAC, structural, plumbing, lighting, safety, painting, elevator, and electrical maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of all service calls and ensure facility support contractors sign into the visitor log upon arrival.
- Operate and monitor the computerized facility management system for HVAC to maintain comfortable environmental conditions throughout event rooms and supporting areas.
- Monitor and operate the HVAC Direct Digital Control (DDC) head-end workstation.
- Monitor equipment including chillers, pumps, constant/variable volume air handling units, variable air volume units, humidifiers, fresh air fans, exhaust fans, smoke evacuation fans, and computer room cooling units.
- Adjust ambient room temperatures for constant volume AHUs and supply air temperatures for variable air volume AHUs as needed.
- Verify chilled water system supply temperature daily and initiate service tickets immediately if specifications are not met.
- Make recommendations to the COR regarding repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure HVAC system continuity.
- Maintain operation of IQ Air filtration units (three-stage filtration including HEPA), replace filters as required, track usage, and recommend inventory replenishment.
- Assist with reading, coordinating, and analyzing architectural, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, structural, and reflected ceiling drawings.
- Create scaled schematic drawings, conceptual floor plans, elevations, and section drawings using AutoCAD, MS Visio, or manual drafting methods to support recommendations and options.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the HVAC industry, which may include engineering design, sales, field installation, or repair services.
- Experience operating HVAC monitoring and control systems, including DDC systems.
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment and building systems.
- Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering drawings across multiple disciplines.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Visio, or comparable drafting tools preferred.
- Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with facility staff and contractors.
