About This Position
Neuroscience Group is currently looking for a full time Neurotoxin Specialist. This position will work M - F / 8-4:30 PM. As an integral member of the Clinical Services Team, the Neurotoxin Specialist performs functions that are vital to the authorization, scheduling, and coordination of cares for all Neurotoxin Patients.
For over thirty years, Neuroscience Group has provided excellent neurologic care for the Fox Valley and Northeast Wisconsin. Ours is the only medical facility in the area that combines neurosurgery, neurology, orthopedic spine surgery, interventional and non-interventional pain management and physical therapy. Our practice has grown to over 50 providers and serves patients in nine outlying clinics scattered throughout the region. Requirements:RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understands and maintains confidentiality standards in compliance with State and Federal regulations, including HIPAA.
- Adheres to strict customer confidentiality standards, recognizing that even acknowledgment of privileged information is prohibited.
- Certification of insurance benefits as it applies to the precertification process.
- Obtaining precertification/preauthorization from payers for Botox
- Botox appointment scheduling
- Neurotoxin Supply Chain Management
- Maintains and organizes the Botox refrigerator.
- Place Neurotoxin Orders in Patient Charts
- Submitting prescriptions to specialty pharmacies
- Managing patient follow-up post Botox injection
- Maintains good communication with the patient and all adjuvant teams working with Neurotoxin Patients, Physicians, & Clinical Service Lines
- Reimbursement and Billing Teams
- Responsible for entering accurate information into patients' electronic medical records.
- Responsible for answering phone calls and returning calls to patients regarding scheduling/rescheduling.
- Regularly attends all team and staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast-paced setting
- One year's experience in an outpatient setting preferred.
- Prior experience with EPIC preferred.
- Prior Authorization Experience
- Organization and time management skills
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Requires frequent change in position, including bending, stooping, standing, stretching, and walking and sitting, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
· May involve lifting of up to 30–40 pounds.
