Boise Cascade has an exciting opening for a Region Controller!
Location Requirement:
Candidates must reside in BMD’s Southwest Region (Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma) or Boise, Idaho.
Scope:
Responsibilities include oversight of a region’s accounting functions, including financial analysis, transactional and general ledger accounting and reporting and an ongoing review to ensure compliance of the region internal and system controls and processes. Serves as a liaison between the internal audit department and public audit firm and BMD Division operations. Ensure region is in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the region's accounting functions, including financial analysis, transactional and general ledger accounting, and reporting.
- Conduct ongoing reviews to ensure compliance with internal and system controls and processes.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the internal audit department, external public audit firm, and BMD Division operations.
- Support audit processes and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Ensure the region adheres to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and maintains compliance with all relevant financial regulations.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function. Working conditions are an office environment with minimal physical exertion. 35% travel required.
Preferred Qualifications: Typically more than ten (10) years of experience in related job function; may require professional certification. Knowledge of accounting theory and practice of recording, classifying, examining, and analyzing the data and records of financial transactions preferred. Technical expert (SEC, GAAP, ERISA, PeopleSoft, internal processes, etc.). CPA preferred.
