About This Position

Description:

KCM is seeking an AI Content Prompt Writer who will exclusively focus on creating written content using our internal tool, KCM GPT.

This role is responsible for designing high-quality prompts that generate original, on-brand content (e.g., free digital downloads, devotionals, study guides, email copy, social captions, landing page copy) and then reviewing, refining, and finalizing the output for accuracy, clarity, and voice.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer/editor who can think systematically about prompting and quality control—and who is comfortable iterating quickly to produce consistent results.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prompt Writing & Content Generation (Primary)

  • Write and maintain effective prompt templates in KCM GPT to generate content across multiple formats:
  • Free digital downloads (PDF-style guides, checklists, worksheets)
  • Devotionals (multi-day series, daily entries, prayer prompts)
  • Short-form copy (social, email blurbs, headlines, CTAs)
  • Long-form copy (articles, teaching summaries, resource descriptions)
  • Create prompt “systems” that reliably produce content aligned to KCM’s tone, theological positioning, and style guidelines.
  • Iterate prompts to improve structure, consistency, originality, and readability.
  • Build and organize a prompt library (by content type, audience, campaign, and use-case).

Editorial Review & Quality Assurance (Required)

  • Review all KCM GPT outputs for:
  • Brand voice and writing quality
  • Theological consistency and clarity
  • Internal consistency (tone, formatting, definitions, references)
  • Factual accuracy (where applicable) and obvious errors/hallucinations
  • Copyright/IP risk (avoid overly similar phrasing to protected works)
  • Edit and polish content to final-ready quality, including formatting for distribution (e.g., headings, bullets, callouts, reflection questions).
  • Ensure content is actionable, audience-appropriate, and aligned to the intended outcome (encouragement, teaching, conversion, engagement, etc.).

Workflow & Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing/creative/content stakeholders to receive briefs and clarify objectives (audience, format, length, CTA, distribution channel).
  • Deliver finished assets on schedule; manage multiple content requests through a simple intake and revision process.
  • Maintain version control and documentation (prompt versions, approved outputs, reusable templates).
  • Provide recommendations on best practices for using KCM GPT safely and consistently (guardrails, do’s/don’ts, prompt patterns).
Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven writing and editing experience (portfolio required)—especially devotional, inspirational, educational, or marketing content.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce clean, structured writing with a consistent voice.
  • Experience prompting GPT-style tools OR strong ability to learn and apply prompt patterns quickly.
  • Strong attention to detail, editorial judgment, and comfort revising content multiple times.
  • Ability to translate an abstract brief into repeatable prompt instructions and reliable outputs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in Christian publishing, ministry content, curriculum writing, or theological education.
  • Experience building templates, SOPs, or scalable content workflows.
  • Familiarity with content compliance considerations (copyright, attribution, sensitive topics).

Core Skills & Competencies:

  • Prompt design (instruction hierarchy, tone control, formatting constraints, examples)
  • Developmental editing + line editing
  • Voice matching and style consistency
  • Critical thinking and content integrity checks
  • Organized, process-driven, deadline-oriented

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

Standard office equipment (computer, phone, copier, and peripherals).

OTHER:

  • Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, must not cause dissension, difficulties and divisions
  • Must maintain a good attendance record
  • Because of the wide range of personal contact with ministry leaders within and outside the organization, this position requires considerable diplomacy, maturity, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with people of all cultures
