Our Approach to Technology:At Rocky Mountain Prep, technology education equips students with the digital literacy, problem-solving skills, and creative confidence needed to navigate and shape the modern world. From ECE through fifth grade, students engage in developmentally appropriate learning, including computer fundamentals, typing fluency, foundational coding without AI, and hands-on STEM design challenges. Technology teachers design standards-aligned curricula and authentic performance tasks that require students to apply learning by designing, building, testing, and presenting solutions to real-world problems. These tasks are collaborative and reflective: students work in teams, iterate on ideas, analyze feedback, and share creations with peers and the broader school community. Clear criteria aligned to rigorous academic and technology standards guide students in demonstrating technical skill and innovative thinking. Classrooms function as creative labs where curiosity, persistence, and responsible technology use are emphasized, empowering students to become confident creators and thoughtful digital citizens.
