JOB SUMMARY:

Technology Account Specialists are responsible for the computer hardware, software, and network systems used by retail locations, including installing, supporting, and upgrading point-of-sale systems, back-office systems, computer hardware, and related technologies. They help address critical issues and implement and train stores on all existing and new features, such as PCI, payments, loyalty, pricing, cash management, and reporting.

The role requires travel to and from stores, with new installs requiring up to a week on site. Applicants should have experience with Windows operating systems, computer hardware, peripherals, and POS systems, and must be able to interact professionally with retailers, clients, vendors, manufacturers, and internal teams while maintaining strong understanding of technical terms and concepts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install operating systems, software, patches, and upgrades.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Configure, optimize, fine-tune, and monitor operating systems, software, and hardware.
  • Set up and perform system backups and recovery; build store servers; maintain system and data security (virus protection, malware, PCI).
  • Communicate with retailers on technology needs and industry changes.
  • Take calls and assist with escalation tickets elevated from Tier 1 help desk support.
  • Train store personnel on standard IT procedures and advise stores on current IT needs.
  • Participate in IT project management.
  • Implement and support store networks and network security.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or a combination of equivalent experience and training.
  • Minimum of five years of job-related work experience with demonstrated competence.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems, computer hardware, peripherals, and POS systems preferred
  • Ability to communicate and work professionally with retailers.
  • Ability to install all types of computer software.
  • Ability to install, maintain, and replace all types of PC and hardware components.
  • Must be able to handle stress from multiple projects and equipment-related issues.
  • Must be able to train and support store personnel.
  • Able to work with and direct teams regarding retail POS, back-office systems, web browsers, and in-store technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships with retailers and serve as a resource for technology decisions.
  • Ability to think and react quickly to problems and remain calm under pressure.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of systems, hardware, and software used by the employer.

Physical/Sensory Demands

  • Frequent local travel using a personal vehicle for on-site installations and retailer support.
  • Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable office environment, with regular interaction with various
