About This Position
Job Summary:
This enterpriselevel leadership role provides systemwide oversight and execution of pharmacy sourcing, contracting, procurement, and 340B program operations across the health system. The role serves as a strategic and operational bridge between pharmacy operations, finance, legal, compliance, supply chain, and external partners, with responsibility for identifying gaps, solving complex problems, and delivering measurable value from day one.
Responsibilities:
• Provide enterprise leadership for pharmacy sourcing, purchasing, contracting, and inventory optimization across the network
• Identify, prioritize, and remediate gaps, inefficiencies, and risks in procurement workflows and controls
• Lead proactive strategies to mitigate drug shortages, recalls, and supply disruptions
• Establish standardized bestpractice procurement processes while supporting sitespecific needs
• Serve as the operational lead for the 340B Drug Pricing Program, ensuring maximum benefit and full compliance in procurement practices, workflows, and execution.
• Maintain expert knowledge of wholesaler, manufacturer, and GPO contracting structures, pricing models, and rebate mechanisms
• Lead pharmacy contract lifecycle management in partnership with legal and finance
• Leverage market intelligence to strengthen negotiating position and financial performance
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior pharmacy and healthsystem leadership
- Oversee development of KPIs, dashboards, and benchmarking tools to drive performance and accountability
- Evaluate new sourcing opportunities including direct-to-manufacturer contracting consolidated service center models and strategic partnerships.
• Build strong crossfunctional partnerships across pharmacy, supply chain, finance, legal, and compliance
• Mentor and guide staff involved in purchasing, sourcing, and inventory functions
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience:
Required Experience:
• Significant experience in healthsystem pharmacy procurement, sourcing, contracting, supply chain, or pharmaceutical commercialization leadership
• Demonstrated handson knowledge of the 340B Drug Pricing Program
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical wholesaler, manufacturer, and distributor operating models
• Proven ability to lead complex, multisite initiatives and drive execution
Experience from Adjacent or NonTraditional Backgrounds Strongly Encouraged:
• Pharmaceutical wholesalers or distributors
• Manufacturers or lifesciences organizations
• Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs)
• Enterprise healthcare supply chain or contracting roles
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Advanced degree (PharmD, MBA, MHA, MS) welcomed but not required
• Pharmacist licensure or supplychain / contracting certifications valued but not mandatory
Licenses / Certifications:
If applicable, current NYS Registered Pharmacist license in good standing
