This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving enterprise-level project governance and execution across a global diagnostics organization. The position oversees the full portfolio of new product development and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities, regulatory requirements, and operational capacity. It plays a critical role in transforming project management into a strategic capability that enables predictable delivery and accelerated innovation in a regulated medical device environment. Acting as the central point of accountability for execution excellence, the role ensures visibility across timelines, risks, dependencies, and resource allocation. It partners closely with cross-functional leaders in R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to support disciplined decision-making. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity focused on scaling execution maturity and enabling sustainable growth.
- Own enterprise-level governance and portfolio oversight for global diagnostics projects, including new product development, lifecycle programs, and strategic initiatives.
- Establish and maintain full portfolio visibility across timelines, resources, dependencies, risks, and execution progress.
- Lead prioritization, scenario planning, and trade-off recommendations to support executive decision-making.
- Define and continuously improve project management frameworks, tools, and governance standards across the organization.
- Drive disciplined stage-gate and phase-gate processes from concept through commercialization in compliance-driven environments.
- Ensure alignment of all projects with business strategy, commercial priorities, and organizational capacity.
- Act as escalation owner for complex, high-risk, or cross-functional execution issues impacting portfolio delivery.
- Partner with functional leaders to ensure accountability, clarity of ownership, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Identify and resolve execution risks, resource conflicts, and interdependencies across multiple programs.
- Provide clear, concise portfolio reporting and executive-level insights to senior leadership.
- Lead and develop a team of project and program managers, building capability, performance standards, and career development pathways.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the project management organization.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification required.
- 10–15+ years of progressive project or program management experience.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing project managers or program teams.
- Strong experience in IVD or medical device development within regulated FDA environments.
- Deep understanding of design controls and structured product development frameworks.
- Proven track record of managing enterprise or portfolio-level project execution.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with disciplined execution capabilities.
- Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex, regulated environments.
- Strong risk management, problem-solving, and decision facilitation skills.
