Scheduler

Ever wish your skills with people could be used to make a real difference in your community? Join us and make it happen. Why KACL?

Since 1960, KACL has promoted inclusion and social justice in our community. We are a not-for-profit, charitable organization made up of some of the most compassionate, caring, and hardworking people you’ll ever meet.

We are one of the largest employers in Kenora, and our goal is to be the employer of choice by focusing on safety, courtesy, teamwork, and inclusion.

The work of our scheduling team supports KACL’s programs by enhancing their impact and enabling the achievement of our mission. As a Scheduler, your gifts and abilities will help us build a resilient, connected community where everyone belongs.

You Are:
  • Organized: You can think critically, write, research, and plan your work.
  • People Focused: You know that empathy is a verb. You see the entire organization as “your team.”
  • Detail Oriented: You see the visual conundrums in a schedule. The BIG and the little things matter to you.
  • Resilient: You’re fuelled by your own impact, and step into deadlines with enthusiasm.
  • Analytical: You don’t see problems, you see puzzles. You think outside the box and have the ability to compare hidden information with your knowledge, experience, and imagination to find the unexpected solution that others miss.
You Will:
  • Prepare, maintain, and circulate schedules in accordance with KACL policies, the Collective Agreement, and the Employment Standards Act.
  • Act as the contact for employees concerning work absences or changes, and fill planned and unexpected replacement shifts.
  • Perform remote on-call duties as required.
  • Work with a computerized scheduling application to manage staff scheduling, including shift planning and approval of hours worked.
  • Support KACL programs in identifying staffing needs and allocating resources effectively.
  • Assist the HR department and training program to onboard new employees.
  • Fulfill other HR functions, with understanding of managing in a unionized environment.
You'll Love:
  • Being part of a progressive organization that makes a real difference in our community.
  • A positive, fun, professional team that needs and values your gifts and talents.
  • Great medical, dental, vision, and disability coverage, and our pension plan.
  • Opportunities for personal and professional growth, and exploration of your gifts.
Vacancies: We are looking to fill one (1) full-time vacant position.
Deadline: Applications must be submitted by Sunday April 5, 2026.

KACL is committed to employment equity and diversity and welcomes qualified applicants from the full range of identities, backgrounds, and experiences. Accommodations are available for all parts of the recruitment and selection process.
