About This Position

Description: Position Summary:The Career and Success Coach works in the Early Childhood Education Department ofEsperanza College of Eastern University, directly under the Education Program Director.The Career and Success coach is responsible for building and sustaining relationships withnew and current Early Childhood Education schools and centers. The Career and Successcoach provides career mentoring and field placement services to the student body ofEsperanza College of Eastern University.
Essential functions:
  • Establish and maintain current and new partnership with early childhood education school, center, and Early childhood education providers in the Philadelphia area.
  • Maintain and update Esperanza College's Early Childhood Education department's database of over 300 early childhood educational provider for outreach, field placement and partnerships. (staff updates, STAR rating, updating, DHS compliance data collection, any significant changes).
  • Conduct site visits for outreach to Early Childhood providers as well as visits for Sub Grantee.
  • Assist students in need of solidifying a student teaching field placement.
  • Provide students with career mentoring, such as organizing workshops for students to attend, resume building, interview preparation, etc.
  • Assist the Education Program Director in data collection for the William Penn Foundation grant for deliverables.
  • Assist in the application process and implementation of Sb-Grans to Early Childhood providers.
  • Follow up with contracted technical assistance to ensure Sub Grant deliverable are on target.
  • Attend Early childhood Education events partnered with the college.
  • Assist in the planning of the annual Early Childhood Conference as well as professional development training for ECE professionals.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Education Program Director.
Requirements:

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in career mentoring.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Data collection for grant deliverables.
  • Ability to maintain and sustain relationship with various departments staff, university staff, students and the public.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and other similar software required.
  • Knowledge in resume building, interview preparation, and other key components of career mentoring and development, especially in the field of education.
  • Keen attention to detail, effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, the ability to take initiative, and strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Ability to operate in concert with Mission and Doctrinal Statement of Esperance College and Eastern University is required.
