Equipment Operator at Willets Point Asphalt – Queens, New York

You will serve as a vital technical expert within a 100-year-old family-owned leader in industrial manufacturing. This role gives you the autonomy to operate heavy machinery during high-capacity production cycles while benefiting from the stability of year-round, steady work.

• Operate complex heavy equipment to ensure consistent production of high-quality Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).

• Execute daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational safety.

• Coordinate with field operations and logistics teams to meet high-volume supply demands for prevailing wage projects.

• Implement strict safety protocols while maneuvering machinery to maintain project transparency and site security.

• Resolve real-time logistical issues on-site to prevent project delays or safety hazards.

• Maintain accurate documentation of daily field reports to ensure high-quality project delivery.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience operating heavy machinery within an industrial or commercial environment.

• Proven ability to execute complex mechanical work with minimal oversight.

• Proficiency in interpreting detailed project drawings and schedules to guide equipment placement.

• Absolute willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and significant overtime as required.

• Completion of a formal technical training program or equivalent apprenticeship.

• Demonstrated experience in mentoring junior team members in a field environment.

• Advanced knowledge of specialized commercial installations and high-output industrial workflows.
