Floating Health Technician
π Multiple School Locations | Part-Time, Seasonal | Non-Exempt
π About the Role
PanCare of Florida is seeking a reliable, flexible, and student-focused Floating Health Technician to support health services across multiple school locations. In this role, you will provide basic healthcare support, assist with routine screenings and student needs, and respond to minor illnesses and injuries. Because this is a floating position, you will travel between assigned school sites based on coverage needs and daily staffing.

What Youβll Do
As a Floating Health Technician, you will:
- Support and follow school health protocols that promote student safety and well-being
- Administer medications according to policy and maintain accurate documentation
- Provide minor first aid care for injuries or sudden illness
- Assist with communicable disease monitoring and reporting
- Notify the school nurse, parent/guardian, or administrator when a student requires further evaluation
- Assist with head lice checks and student education when needed
- Perform CPR/AED during emergencies if required
- Document student visits and care provided according to policy and procedure
- Communicate with school staff, parents, and PanCare nursing staff as appropriate
- Assist with student health screenings (vision, hearing, BMI, scoliosis, etc.)
- Perform delegated clinical tasks after receiving required training and nurse oversight, such as:
- Blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration
- Personal medical care tasks with RN delegation
- Enteral feeding
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and communicate replenishment needs
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, and confidentiality standards
- Support school clinic workflow and assist with additional tasks as assigned

Skills & Competencies Required
- Basic medical knowledge and first aid skills
- Ability to accurately document student care
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA/FERPA regulations
- Solid organizational and time-management skills
- Computer proficiency for documentation and reporting
- Customer-service mindset when working with students and families
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Current BLS certification and First Aid required
- Must pass Level II background screening
- Experience in a healthcare or school-based setting preferred
- Experience working with children strongly preferred
Physical Requirements
This role may require:
- Standing or walking for extended periods
- Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching
- Lifting or assisting students or equipment (up to 25 lbs.)
- Ability to respond calmly and appropriately during urgent or emergency situations
- Use of hands for basic clinical tasks such as medication administration or bandaging
