What You’ll Do

The State Compliance Specialist represents StartCHURCH by providing customers with a professional level experience as they commence their compliance journey at the State level for legal document preparation. You will also work a part of a team of State and Federal Compliance Specialists. As such you will provide the client with an unbroken continuity os service excellence and your teammates with the highest level of support. This distinction is divided into the following focuses:

  • Internal - people who have a relationship with, and within, our company, either through employment or as partners who deliver your product or service to the end user, the external customer
  • External - people who pay for and use the products or services our company offers

All tasks below should be carried out for the purpose of excellence in what we do and with the intent to honor and validate the client.

As a State Compliance Specialist at StartCHURCH, you will:

  • Maintain company-established KPI’s for the movement of clients through each service.
  • Executive activities including, but not limited to, scheduling and conducting appointments; contacting clients to request required information necessary to complete scrivener services; complete documents once the needed information is on file (i.e. Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, and other state level compliance/governing documents.);
  • Ensure successful client follow-up within the KPI metrics.
  • Provide high-level customer service to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with clients throughout the entire process of applying for tax exemption.
  • Create, edit, and format compliance documents by transcribing data collected from the customer through various documents from electronic forms and converting documents to/from different file formats.
  • Submit state online filings when applicable.
  • Become a subject matter expert in the state level compliance processes to include all job-related communications and functions, providing instructions and resources, addressing inquiries that may arise.
  • Implement action plans according to administrative policies and procedures for both internal and external clients by utilizing relevant methods.
  • Complete all assigned jobs by the deadline in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Be punctual and participate in team meetings, training, conferences, projects, and team activities to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Display excellent interpersonal skills to build quality relationships with the team and with customers.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide team phone support and assist with special projects.
  • Additional responsibilities may be added to ensure customer satisfaction and quality assurance.

  • Preferred Technical Experience: Certified Document Preparer, Document Assistant, MacOS Operating System, Slack, Zoom, Calendly, Adobe Pro.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred but not required.
  • Preferred work experience: Law office, IRS, Government, Compliance related roles.


Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor degree required.
