Pacific Rim Land, Inc. (“PRL”) is seeking an experienced and strategic Tax Manager to oversee all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and reporting within a sophisticated Family Office structure. This role supports a diverse portfolio of real estate partnerships and operating companies and plays a key part in identifying tax strategies, improving internal processes, and advising leadership on evolving tax landscapes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns, payments, and compliance documentation for multiple entities.
  • Maintain and update quarterly and annual tax projections, ensuring alignment with business performance and changing tax laws.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of a proactive tax planning strategy aimed at minimizing tax liabilities while maintaining full compliance with current regulations.
  • Proactively identify tax risks and opportunities; collaborate with independent tax counsel on complex matters and emerging strategies to position the company and family members at the forefront of tax developments.
  • Lead cross-functional process improvements across operating businesses and family investments to streamline estimated income reporting and increase reporting accuracy.
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with external tax advisors and preparers, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Prepare, review, and present periodic updates and presentations to family members and senior management, offering insights on key tax issues, legislative changes, and strategic recommendations.
  • Stay current on relevant tax law changes, industry developments, and best practices through continuous learning and engagement with professional networks.

Pay Range: $135,000 - $175,000

We offer employees (and their families) medical, dental, vision, disability, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, as well as profit sharing plan. New hires also accrue fifteen days of vacation leave annually, receive ten paid holidays, and nine days of sick leave throughout the calendar year.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have the ability to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred; CPA designation is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting, with significant exposure to tax planning, compliance, and return review.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and multi-state tax laws, financial reporting, and tax research tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with financial systems and tax software.
  • Experience with real estate partnerships and complex entity structures is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex tax matters clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
