About This Position

CPLC is searching for a talented, experienced leader to join our Home Study/Post Release Services (HS/PRS) team in Region 2 New York!

Please note: This position must reside in New York/New Jersey only, overseeing Region 2 NY.

POSITION SUMMARY
The HS/PRS Regional Supervisor will oversee a regional team of Caseworkers to conduct home studies and provide post-release services to unaccompanied children and their sponsors. The Regional Supervisor ensures that each child and Sponsor receive the highest quality home study visit and ongoing support and referral to services possible, including weekly case reviews and providing coverage for cases unable to be assigned to current team members.

The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with ORR policies, procedures, and timeframes as related to HS/PRS for the assigned team and collaborates often with leadership and clinical supervisor to achieve this standard.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Regional Supervisor supervises the Post Release Services (PRS) Caseworkers Level 1 and Level 2 and Home Study Caseworkers (HS CW). This includes hiring, training and providing ongoing evaluation, coaching, development and feedback to each member of their team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education /Background:

  • MSW degree or an equivalent degree in behavioral sciences or a social service field and 3 years of progressive experience in the fields listed above or a bachelor's degree in one of the aforementioned fields, plus 5 years of relevant employment experience
  • Experience conducting homes studies and writing thorough assessment reports
  • A valid US Driver's License
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Bilingual and bicultural: Fluent English and Spanish required.

Other Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of child welfare best practices, trauma-informed care systems, and working within homes and communities
  • Knowledgeable about family preservation, kinship care, and/or general child welfare
  • Knowledge of local community social services
  • Specialized experience conducting/reviewing home studies and working with immigrant populations, with clinical experience, highly preferred
  • Clinical crisis and intervention skills
  • Strong assessment and analysis skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, excellent organizational abilities
  • Excellent judgment and leadership capabilities
  • Employees are required to possess strong computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel, MS Teams
  • Available to travel as necessary
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a background investigation, and additional clearances as required

Traveling and Schedule:
This is a hybrid opportunity with possible travel. This is a full-time position, but scheduling could vary depending on needs. May include travel, evenings, and weekends to meet different time zones and projects
