Senior Vice President, Performance Improvement and Measurement
Job Overview:
The SVP Performance Improvement and Measurement is a system level leader who leverages ongoing quality improvement processes to drive the health system to exceptional clinical and patient-centered outcomes. Primary responsibility will be to develop and deploy data insights, methods of measurement, and process improvement techniques with the goal of improving clinical quality, safety, and patient experience in health system hospitals and across all sites of care
Reports to: Executive Vice President, System Chief Medical and Quality Officer
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience leading quality programs within an acute care hospital or health system
- 10+ years of experience leading teams in the areas of quality and or patient experience
- MBA, or MPH preferred
Essential Functions:
- Partner with System and local Quality, Safety, and Patient Experience leaders to advance the health system to exceptional outcomes, as reflected by top quartile or above performance in key outcome areas of clinical outcomes, clinical efficiency, and patient experience.
- Coordinate activities with the System Performance Improvement Division related to patient safety, quality, and patient experience.
- Serve as the bridge between data and action by creating actionable data that translates into focused and impactful quality improvement initiatives.
- Drive greater performance and leverage system thinking and creativity to continuously improve clinical quality and safety metrics, employee engagement, patient care services, patient throughput, expense reduction, and managing staffing and software resources.
- Work collaboratively with the executive teams at the hospitals and other RWJBH sites of care to improve quality rankings, including CMS Stars, Leapfrog, US News, and Vizient.
- Be a role model, mentor and leader for other quality, safety, and patient experience professionals across the health system.
- Develop and implement strategy, in partnership with executive clinical leaders to achieve quality and safety results including zero preventable harm while maintaining and integrating High Reliability Organization principles.
- Lead team members in the development of data visualizations for quality improvement and patient experience for a variety of audiences, include the Board of Directors in partnership with the System Data Analytics Office.
- Facilitate internal communication updates per a standard cadence in partnership with RWJBarnabas Health Marketing and Communications.
- Act as a liaison to support alignment between Quality, Operational, and Strategic initiatives as appropriate.
- Lead additional projects that will further advance quality outcomes at our sites and across our overall health system.
