Cake Decorator at Hansens IGA – Stanley, Wisconsin

Position Purpose:
Represent our store’s image in a positive manner by providing our customers with helpful, courteous service. Cuts, fills and ices cakes. Decorates and writes messages on cakes using pastry bags, air brush and tips. Packages cakes for special order and back stock. Assists with other bakery/deli duties as necessary. Follows proper bakery and general safety and sanitation procedures and standards.

Qualifications/Skills:
Must be 18 years or older.
One year of supervising experience, preferred

• Honest, team-oriented person who has a good work ethic and productive nature.
• Must have a friendly, courteous, service-oriented attitude.
• Able to perform work independently to achieve company goals.
• Able to direct and enforce company goals and policies to staff.
• Able to keep confidential information.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Travel may be required.

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Checks cake order area for special orders. Checks production schedule for daily needs. Pulls stock from freezer or cooler to merchandising area.
2. Communicates with all designated stores for special order needs.
3. Keeps decorating area clean and clear of debris. Follows proper bakery department safety and security procedures and standards.
4. Assists with other bakery duties as needed. Assists in other departments as necessary
5. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to customers, employees and suppliers.

General:

1. Interaction with customers will be friendly, courteous, positive and enthusiastic.
2. Directs or shows customers where items are in the store.
3. Stays productive while punched in.
4. Greet customers by using the Ten Foot Rule.
5. Other duties as they are assigned.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to lift 40 Pounds on a regular basis.
