A/P Accountant at PERC Water Corporation – Fort Pierce, Florida
About This Position
The Accounts Payable Accountant has responsibility for managing the monthly processing and reporting of the accounts payable function. This position is based at AEREX location in Fort Pierce, FL. Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance, 401k, Employee Share Incentive Program. Hybrid schedule is available.
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform entire A/P function from inputting to review coding of vendor invoices and prepare weekly EFTs and check disbursement.
• Reconcile vendor statements to A/P system.
• Manage 1099 filing.
• Assist in preparation of purchase orders (temporary)
• Manage state and local tax filings and corporate registrations.
• Manage insurance compliance for customers/subcontractors.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare and review monthly journal entries.
• Prepare Sarbanes Oxley documentation and perform testing as necessary.
• Perform quarter-end internal testing procedures for A/P cutoff.
• Support senior management in special projects.
• Assist with external audits.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience
• Construction industry experience a plus
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• “Hands-on” style and detail-oriented approach to document preparation and/or review
• Good interpersonal skills with the collaborative communication style
• Well organized, adept at managing peak workloads with an ability to meet deadlines.
• Previous experience with mid-sized ERP systems is a plus.
Education and Experience:
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is required.
• At least 3 to 5 years’ experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
• Travel requirements 10% - 15% (Visit local facilities)
