Food Runner at Nectar Hilton Head – Hilton Head Island, South Carolina

Ensures quality and proper presentation of food in a timely manner; that food orders are prepared and assembled quickly according to recipes and procedures to avoid waste; and that the line is always stocked, neat, clean and safe.

o Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Nectar Hilton Head.
o Carry food, dishes, trays, or silverware from kitchens or supply areas to tables.
o Read tickets and prepare, to order, all food items following standard recipes and procedures within specified time limits.
o Prepare recipes and plate presentations, correctly set up according to tickets.
o Pass out food dishes to guests by seat number.
o Locate items requested by guests.
o Prepare assigned food items. Wash and clean raw food products. Peel, dice, shred and slice food products used for garnishments.
o Clean up spilled food or drink or broken dishes and remove trash.
o Serve food to guests when servers need assistance.
o Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, or trays.
o Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in food service areas or other areas of the restaurant, and mop or vacuum floors.
o Stock garnishments, condiments and other items on expo.
o Respond appropriately to guest requests, and communicate guest requests to server as needed.
o Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.
o Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
o Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

Minimum Qualifications
o Able to understand and speak using the predominant language(s) of guests
o Able to read food tickets in English
o Able to work in a standing and walking position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
o Able to bend, stoop, reach, carry and lift objects up to 50 lbs. frequently
o Able to maneuver between tables and narrow spaces with ease
o Must be eligible to work in the United States
