Registered Nurse- Med/Surg House Float at Cookeville Regional Medical Center – Cookeville, Tennessee

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing nursing care utilizing the nursing process within an assigned unit; observes, assesses, treats and cares for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process. Oversees the work of non-licensed personnel. Employee will be expected to float to Med/Surg departments throughout the hospital as deemed necessary by Nursing Supervisor.

Education:

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

Associates degree required with Bachelor's preferred

Additional Education Requirements:

Bachelors degree required or equivalent. Equivalent is Associates degree with a minimum of 6 years experience.

Certification & Licensures:

Registered Nurse license required

IV Qualified required

BLS required upon hire or within three months

ACLS required within one year of hire

PALS required within one year of hire (5N)

FIM Certification within one year of hire (Rehab)

Quality Measure Certification to be completed with one year of hire (Intermediate Units)

Experience:

1 to 3 years experience with Bachelors degree preferred

6 years experience required with Associates degree
