About Bremen Hospital
Community Hospital of Bremen is a 24-bed critical access hospital serving Bremen, Indiana, and the surrounding communities in Marshall and St. Joseph counties. As part of Beacon Health System, patients have access to providers, resources and services from across the entire health system. The hospital provides the community with: Emergency Department; diagnostic imaging and lab; radiology, including MRI, CT and ultrasound; general surgery; obstetrics; sleep lab; mammography; physical and occupational therapy; occupational health; swing bed services; and infusion therapy.
What You’ll Do
As a Medical Surgical Department Registered Nurse, you’ll report to the Manager of Patient Care Services. You’ll deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care while working collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams. You will assess patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and advocate for patient well-being, all while upholding our mission to deliver outstanding care, inspire health, and connect with heart.
Medical Surgical Department RN Job Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing interventions aligned with best practices and regulatory standards.
- Develop and adapt personalized plans of care based on clinical assessment, patient preferences, and evolving needs.
- Proactively address physical, emotional, and psychosocial risks, ensuring continuity of care across the patient journey.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams to ensure informed, patient-centered decision-making.
- Maintain documentation that meets clinical and legal standards.
- Serve as a mentor and role model for colleagues through collaboration, resource sharing, and support.
What You Bring
As a Registered Nurse, you’ll bring a high level of knowledge and competency in performing nursing care procedures, assessments, treatment, and techniques and your advanced analytical skills are necessary to solve complex problems and make decisions related to patient care. You demonstrate the interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, visitors, physicians, and others. You demonstrate the ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner. You have an understanding of the need to be responsive and reasonably adaptable for scheduling purposes, when necessary, due to extenuating circumstances in support of co-workers and department functions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. If not already held, must be obtained within 5 years of hire (for RNs hired after January 1, 2014), or obtain and maintain specialty certification.
- Current BCLS (CPR) certification required; other certifications may be required per department.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Commitment to ethical standards, patient privacy, and continuous improvement.
