Anesthesia Technician- Surgery at Cookeville Regional Medical Center – Cookeville, Tennessee

The competent Anesthesia Technician is responsible for maintaining and cleaning all anesthesia equipment and instrumentation. Assisting anesthesiologists with inductions, regional blocks, and performing many aspects of basic patient care. Patient care duties are including but not limited to, patient care assistance appropriate to age of the patient and the safe transportation of the patients to and from the department. Assists surgical team members in the preparation and set-up of their rooms. Performs housekeeping duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: ORT experience; OR nursing assistant experience, central service experience, or previous Anesthesia Technician experience preferred. Ability to read and write English with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be knowledgeable regarding basic medical terminology, familiar with OR environment and be able to identify the many pieces of equipment used in the OR. Detail oriented and able to work independently and take direction.
