Job Description
Respiratory Therapist with a Bachelors degree and with advanced certifications, within the field of Respiratory Care, looking to assist in leadership within the department. The Lead Therapist is able to function autonomously and in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members in the organization. The Lead therapist promotes evidenced-based practice and quality care by participating in performance improvement activities, development of staff clinical practice, serving as a resource and role model, assisting with management of daily operations of the department and exemplifies the mission, vision and values of Rush-Copley in accordance with policies and procedures. This position works closely with all multidisciplinary team members to assure the highest degree of quality care is followed at all times, keeping the care and safety of the patient population as a top priority.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
License: Current Illinois State- Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
Education:
Required completion of undergraduate course of study in Respiratory Care.
Achieved and maintains credential of Advance Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT).
Bachelor degree preferred, or enrolled in good standing and progressing in Bachelor /Master’s degree program in related field of study with expected graduation 24 month of transitioning to lead therapist role.
Successful completion of core competency in specialty area serving as Clinical Lead ICU/NICU/ ER/General floors/ Blood Gas Labs
Certifications:
CPR
ACLS
PALS
NRP
A specialty credential is required in one respiratory related course of study (PFT/ACCS/NPS/ACE).
Member in good standing in AARC/ISRC
Special Skills: Minimum of 5 years of Acute Care experience in Respiratory Care and 2 years of experience in a specialty area.
