Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy at RWJBarnabas Health – Rahway, New Jersey

Job Overview:

The Occupational Therapist provides ongoing evaluation and assessment of patients using standardized tests and measurements and direct observation.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or certificate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
• Licensed by the NJ State Board of Occupational Therapy

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift working, 8-4:30pm
• Full-Time

Essential Functions:

• Formulate objective treatment goals and plans to achieve goals
• Modify goals and plans as needed
• Provide medically prescribed treatment to inpatients in acute care, LTACH, and outpatients
• Complete written or computerized documentation in the medical record as pertains to patients status
• Complete all other forms, documents and letters as necessary
• Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences, patient and family meetings and other committees and meetings as assigned
• Maintain knowledge of current laws and standards of practice as relates to occupational therapy
• Participate in educational activities including student supervision and provision of education on areas of expertise or interest
• Contribute to hospital and community education within scope of knowledge as requested
