KRAFT PLANT SPOT DRIVER - SPRINGFIELD at WILSON LOGISTICS – Springfield, Missouri

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operating company-owned truck for transporting and delivering Kraft products in a safe, efficient, timey, and legal manner.
• Hook and unhook trailers; install and remove tire chains as required by weather
• Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.
• Ensure that all operations follow state and federal laws and regulations.
• Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects/repairs to Company personnel.
• Pre-trip truck and/or trailer
• Safe operations of yard trucks
• Moving and spotting equipment required to facilitate the needs of Kraft freight
• Adherence to Kraft policies and Wilson policies
• Yard checks – responsible for yard activity, moving equipment, and conducting daily inspections
• Conducting inventory of equipment
• Maintaining accurate paperwork at all times, and maintain clear communication with Kraft and Wilson supervisors
• Fueling of equipment
• Spill cleanup
• Maintenance runs to various locations
• Shop and office cleaning during downtimes
• Maintenance of yard and all equipment assistance as needed and during downtimes
• May perform other duties as assigned. (see Addendums)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 21 years of age.
• Valid CDL.
• Represent Wilson Logistics in a professional manner.
• 6 months of verifiable driving experience (or 3 months with completed a 160 hour commercial driving school course), preferably within the last 3 years.
• Knowledge of all applicable DOT Regulations and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Meet all standards (medical, safety, etc.) required by the DOT and pass required drug/alcohol test.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Able to squat, crouch and reach as needed to handle freight, able to enter and exit the vehicle’s cab numerous times each day.
• Able to push and pull freight at a self-selected height with a force of 150 pounds.
• Able to access and manually release fifth wheel lever and tandem pins which requires horizontal pulling with a force of 100 pounds at a height of 44 inches and pulling with a force of 100 pounds at a height of 38 inches.
• Able to occasionally carry or move freight weighing up to 70 pounds.
• Able to install and remove tire chains, hook and unhook trailers, secure freight.
• For flatbeds: able to handle, install and remove special equipment weighing up to 110 pound

including chains, straps, tarps, tiedowns, etc.
