Registered Nurse (RN) - Part Time Day Shift - Radiation Oncology at RWJBarnabas Health – Somerville, New Jersey

Job Overview:

The primary responsibilities of the Registered Nurse include but are not limited to assisting in communications with patients, triaging patient and patient issues, symptom management and teaching patients regarding their disease process and treatment.

Responsible for evaluating, planning and delivering nursing care to meet individualized patient needs.

Qualifications:

Education required:

• ASN or Nursing Diploma Required, must agree to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire date

Preferred:

• Radiation Oncology experience
• OCN
• BSN

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• AHA BLS and ACLS
• Current New Jersey RN license

Scheduling Requirements:

• Position is for days, 20 hours a week

Other Duties:

• Utilizes the nursing process to effectively assess the needs of patients
• Identifies a plan of care; and implements and evaluates the care given
• Provides direct and indirect care to patients during their radiation therapy
• Coordinates care given by other team members
• Addresses system issues to facilitate the provision of quality and efficient care
• Excellent communication skills, leadership ability, time management and problem solving skills required
