Job Description
House Keeping - Part Time
Poor And the Homeless Tehama County Coalition (PATH)
Salary: $18.00 per hour
Hours / Schedule: This is a non-exempt, full-time, or part-time position scheduled for up to 40 hours per week between the Navigation Center operating 24- hours a day.
Location: PATH Plaza Navigation Center Red Bluff, CA
Responsibilities: The Shelter Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within a 24-hour shelter environment. This position involves thorough cleaning of designated areas, including bathrooms, common areas, and other spaces as assigned. The Housekeeper must ensure the safe and effective use of cleaning chemicals and equipment while adhering to established protocols. Additionally, flexibility and willingness to assist with various tasks as needed are essential for success in this role.
Essential Duties:
Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and floors, according to established standards.
Perform general cleaning duties in common areas, such as lounges, hallways, and kitchen facilities, ensuring a tidy and welcoming environment for shelter residents.
Properly handle and use cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
Dispose of trash and waste materials in designated areas, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the shelter premises.
Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed, notifying supervisor of any shortages or equipment malfunctions.
Follow established protocols for infection control and prevention, particularly in high-traffic areas and communal spaces.
Collaborate with shelter staff to address specific cleaning needs or special projects as assigned.
Maintain confidentiality and always respect the privacy of shelter residents.
Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including safety regulations and emergency protocols.
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required to enhance job performance and skills.
Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous experience in janitorial or housekeeping roles preferred.
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling, and sanitation procedures.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks and lift/move heavy objects as necessary.
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude when interacting with shelter
residents and staff.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to ensure coverage and meet operational demands.
Willingness to undergo background checks and comply with shelter security requirements.
Willingness to complete First Aid / CPR training after hire
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Possess a valid California Driver’s License.
Physical/Working Conditions:

•Meet specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to focus.
Post offer, pre-employment screening requires successful completion of a drug/ alcohol screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle record report.
