About This Position

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Board-Certified Veterinary Cardiologist to join ACCESS South Bay in Torrance, CA, as Medical Director.
This unique role is 50% clinical cardiology and 50% hospital leadership, giving you the opportunity to provide advanced patient care while guiding the vision and success of a thriving multi-specialty and emergency hospital.
About ACCESS South Bay
ACCESS South Bay is part of a network of multi-specialty hospitals throughout Southern California, providing 24/7 emergency and specialty care. Our location handles a high volume of referral and emergency cardiology cases with a fully equipped department that includes:
  • Color flow Doppler ultrasound (Toshiba Aplio, GE Logiq S7, P6, Sonoscape portable ultrasound, GE Vivid Cardiac, Phillips CX50 cardiac ultrasound)
  • Cardiac monitoring devices (Cardell Max 12/Telemetry/NIBP/Invasive BP)
  • Advanced imaging (64-slice helical CT, 1.5T MRI, OEC fluoroscopy)
  • Comprehensive in-house laboratory and full multi-specialty support

Other specialties at ACCESS include critical care, oncology, internal medicine, surgery, neurology, nephrology, interventional radiology, and avian & exotic medicine all supported by an exceptional technical team and a nationwide network of specialists.

Role Highlights
As Medical Director & Cardiologist, you will:
  • Spend approximately 50% of your time providing advanced cardiology services
  • Spend approximately 50% of your time leading, mentoring, and supporting doctors across all specialties
  • Oversee hospital medical protocols, standards, and strategic growth

Experience & Skills Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • State Veterinary Board License and must be in good standing for the state in which they intend to be hired, before their start date.
  • Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible.
  • Board Certified Specialistor Residency Trained Veterinarian.
Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an annual base salary range starting at $150,000 - $300,000 / year. The actual salary offered will be carefully considered based on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
