WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Senior Director of Technical Services will guide the Technical Services team in supporting customer accounts while partnering with internal teams on all matters related to food safety and overall safety. Job duties include:

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Manage a team of Technical Services Managers overseeing food safety and safety programs across North American locations.
  • Coach, develop, and set clear performance expectations and goals for the team.
  • Foster collaboration with Safety, Food Safety, and Operations teams to ensure alignment and program effectiveness.

Program Oversight and Compliance

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety and food safety policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal standards, customer requirements, third-party audits, and regulatory agencies including EEOC, OSHA, FDA, Homeland Security, EPA, and USDA.
  • Manage regulatory and corporate program implementation across all divisions.

Strategic Planning and Risk Management

  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and mitigate safety and food safety risks.
  • Protect food safety by ensuring effective protocols are in place and consistently followed.
  • Review and use Key Performance Indicators ("KPI") to improve safety and food safety performance.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate clearly and professionally, tailoring messages to appropriate audiences.
  • Support company leadership teams in achieving safety and food safety objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with customers at both the corporate and plant management levels to establish trust and credibility while enabling effective partnerships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with academic institutions, industry experts, and associations to stay current on trends and best practices.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor emerging regulations, technologies, and industry trends to drive innovation and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges and recommend process improvements.

Operational Support

  • Coordinate cross-functional safety and food safety initiatives to support business growth.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, ensuring service and performance standards are met.

Other special projects and duties as assigned.

YOUR MUST HAVES:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • 10 or more years of related experience in Safety and or Food Safety with USDA/FDA background, extensive sanitation experience, and strong working knowledge of food plants, safety and food safety programs.
  • A strong understanding of sanitary design and advanced cleaning methods to include wet/dry clean applications.
  • Proven ability to motivate teams to succeed.
  • Requires strong computer skills associated with Microsoft Office and basic skills required to learn new programs.
  • Advanced problem solving and investigational skills focused on RCA and CAPA.
  • Extensive experience managing teams of managers, leadership experience is required.
  • Ability to work well within a team, including adherence to core values and dynamic corporate culture.
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
  • Be adaptable to various assignments and non-routine tasks.

WHAT WE PREFER YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Extensive specialized safety and or food safety training.

OUR ENVIRONMENT:

This position is based out of your professional home office when not traveling to customer facilities within your assigned geographical area. You may be required to sit for long periods of time while looking at a computer screen. When traveling or on customer visits, there may be exposure to wet, hot, and cold environments, include various shifts, and require use of Personal Protective Equipment ("PPE").
