This role offers a critical opportunity to lead and optimize cloud operations in a fast-paced, enterprise environment. The Senior SysOps Engineer will design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure while driving automation and operational excellence across multiple customer environments. Acting as a technical leader, you will mentor engineers, resolve complex production issues, and implement best practices to improve efficiency, reliability, and compliance. You will collaborate with internal teams, customers, and leadership globally, influencing architecture, operations, and cloud strategy. - Deliver automated, scalable solutions to improve operational efficiency for cloud platforms and services.
- Lead the implementation, migration, and maintenance of customer cloud environments while ensuring alignment with SLA, cost, and automation targets.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues, performing root cause analysis and driving long-term remediation plans.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level cloud engineers to enhance team capabilities and consistency.
- Create, update, and maintain standard operating procedures, operational workloads, and incident response documentation.
- Monitor environments using telemetry, alerting, and logging tools to proactively detect and resolve issues.
- Drive automation, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives for cloud operations, security, and compliance.
- Participate in architectural discussions, disaster recovery testing, and audit readiness activities.
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7-10 years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, or related roles, with increasing responsibility.
- Strong experience with enterprise IT and cloud systems, including operating systems, networking, and security concepts.
- Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep) and scripting for automation (PowerShell, REST APIs).
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) for evaluating, validating, and operationalizing outputs.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure administration (AZ-104 or equivalent), and familiarity with AWS or GCP.
- Knowledge of high-availability application architectures, identity management, modern authentication protocols, and zero-trust security concepts.
- Solid experience with IT compliance, operational guardrails, and control-driven policy design.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Preferred certifications: Microsoft Azure AZ-204, AZ-305, AZ-400, AZ-500, DP-300, SC-100.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $120,000 to $149,000, with variable compensation eligibility.
