About This Position
In response to a physician's referral, provides Occupational Therapy services in the Home Health setting within the scope of his/her training, knowledge, and experience. This may include, but is not limited to, treatment of ADL's, upper extremity functioning, cognition, visual perception, functional mobility, psychosocial skills, developmental skills, and splinting. Will provide direct patient care to individuals of all ages (infant to geriatric), as their expertise and caseload demands in the Home Health setting. Will coordinate and provide patient and family education, determine the need for additional, appropriate referrals, and execute effective OT services, as appropriate. Participates in educational programs and performs non-patient care responsibilities as assigned. Participates in program development and in the QA program. Consults and coordinates with interdisciplinary team in providing comprehensive treatment. Pursues continuing education and assists in the marketing of OT services.
Qualifications: Current licensure with the South Carolina State Board of Occupational Therapy. Certification in CPR in basic life support. Must be able to transfer an average adult patient at a weight of 150 pounds.
