Position Standards
-
Graduate of an AMA (American Medical Association) Accredited School of Radiological Technology.

Board Certified by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T) and a member of the A.R.R.T.
-
Advanced certification in specialty through the A.R.R.T. or A.R.D.M.S ; Mammography, DXA, MRI, CT or Ultrasound as required.

Active Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (MIRT) license through the state of New Hampshire.
-
Current BCLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
-
Minimum 3 years of experience within a clinical setting related to the role.

PART TWO: Performance Expectations - Lead Role
- Contributes to the short and long term departmental planning and strategy.
- Oversee training within his/her area of expertise in the department, which includes: identifying needs, developing training, providing/facilitating training, track training, and validating the effectiveness of the training.
- Provides ongoing and annual input on staff performance to the leadership of the department.
- Participates in the Quality Assurance Program for his/her area of expertise in the department.
- Assists in the review, development and revisions of policies and procedures for his/her area of the department.

Provide expertise in assigned area of responsibility by: 1) keeping current with the latest technology, trends and best practice; 2) providing guidance, tracking and on-going support for employee training, and; 3) validating staff competency.

PART THREE: Performance Expectations - Functional

Ensuring High-Quality Imaging
-
Follow all hospital policies and procedures.
-
Achieve and maintain comprehensive competency skills for all equipment used.

Perform all quality control measures to assure equipment is functioning properly.

Keep current with the latest technology, trends, and best practice.
-
Consistently produce high-quality images within the guidelines and directives of the Radiologist groups and the Medical Director.

Supporting Optimal Patient Care
-
Clean and prep exam rooms after every patient procedure.
-
Complete proper patient identification prior to every patient procedure.
-
Adjust equipment for each examination, position and instruct patients, and determine proper voltage, current and desired exposure time for each radiograph using A.L.A.R.A principles.

Use immobilization and support devices to obtain precise patient positioning and lessen patient discomfort
-
Continually assess processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
-
Maintains a smooth and orderly flow of patients through the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
-
Equitable participation in the on-call and holiday rotations, as applicable.

Modality Specialization
-
Maintains credentialing in specialized modality related to their lead responsibilities: MRI, CT, Ultrasound, DXA, Mammography, and/or clinical education.
-
Utilizes the additional training, knowledge and expertise in their specialized modality to expand skills and knowledge within their section.
-
Performs specialized and complex Diagnostic Imaging procedures as required within the specialty modalities of Mammography, DXA, MRI, CT, X-ray and Ultrasound.
