Electric Boat is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to work in the Machine Shop for Facilities Department. Applicant must have general industrial electrical knowledge.

Applicant must also be able to support the below requirements while adhering to all OSHA regulations, company electrical safety training practices and guidelines, NEC codes including NFPA 70E:

  • Must be able to troubleshoot and repair multi-voltage electrical systems equipment up to 480 volts, troubleshoot and repair control systems including servo control system, VFD, PLC and CNC machine type systems.
  • Must have mechanical and electrical knowledge of components relative to automation
  • Must be able to read electrical, mechanical and hydraulic blueprints
  • Must be capable of minor installation of temporary wiring system and electrical construction projects.
  • Must be able to work in the high voltage maintenance program and be able to troubleshoot medium voltage equipment up to 35KV
  • Must be able to work with outside contractors and machinery equipment vendors
  • Must be available to support weekend work and emergency situations

    Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required or 2 years of related technical experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Electric Boat “R” TLD Program qualification
  • 5+ years’ experience in the electrical maintenance field or 5+ years’ experience in industrial and commercial electrical field including troubleshooting and repairing all types of control systems (up to480 volts)
  • Preferred:

  • CT and/or RI state electrical license
  • Trade or Technical Degree Program Certificate is desired.
