Construction Estimator at SST Direct – Gaithersburg, Maryland

We are seeking a Construction Estimator for a direct hire opportunity in Gaithersburg MD with a design-assist specialty contractor

• Pay Range: $70-90k (depending on experience)

Responsibilities for Estimator:

• Prepares accurate material take-offs.
• Prepares substitution requests for value engineering purposes.
• Prepare project cost estimate and bid for new projects.
• Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Visits site as needed for estimating.
• Manage job information and documentation for future access, as necessary.
• Tracks ongoing bids, past bids, and any other assignments, as necessary.
• Collaborates with supervisor on all quotes or bids for best market positioning.
• Copies correct individual(s) on all quotes or bids sent to clients.
• Updates supervisor on status of bids in process or sent.

Qualifications for Estimator:

• 5-10 years of construction estimating experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or engineering preferred
• Experience in business development, is a plus but not required.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction field.
• Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Ability to make sound decisions based on experience and personal judgment.
• Have excellent communication and organization skills.
• Proficiency with Excel and Bluebeam is a plus.
