About This Position

The Human Resources Generalist I reports directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO) and supports the day-to-day operations of the Office of Talent & Culture. This entry-level role assists with a variety of human resources functions including employee relations support, HR program coordination, compliance activities, and administrative operations.

The Human Resources Generalist I also supports the coordination of employee training initiatives by assisting with the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS), including assigning training modules, tracking completion, and generating reports to support organizational learning and compliance requirements.

This position provides operational and administrative support to ensure efficient and consistent HR service delivery across the organization.

Human Resources Operations

  • Provides administrative and operational support to the Chief People Officer and the Office of Talent & Culture.
  • Drafts letters, memos, reports, and other HR-related documents.
  • Schedules meetings and may attend meetings to take notes, track action items, and support follow-up activities.
  • Assists with routine HR processes including employee relations documentation, disciplinary processes, investigations, performance management activities, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Responds to routine employee inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and programs and refers complex matters to the CPO or appropriate leadership.
  • Assists with maintaining employee records and HR documentation in accordance with organizational standards and compliance requirements.
  • Supports preparation of presentations, reports, organizational charts, and HR program materials.
  • Assists with preparation of documentation and materials related to labor relations and organizational initiatives as needed.
  • Maintains awareness of HR best practices, regulatory changes, and employment law updates.

Learning Management System (LMS) Support

  • Assists with coordination of the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Assigns required training modules to employees as directed.
  • Tracks and monitors employee training completion.
  • Generates basic training reports to support compliance and leadership reporting.
  • Supports onboarding training by ensuring new hires are enrolled in required learning modules.
  • Assists with maintaining training records and documentation within the LMS.
  • Provides basic support to employees regarding training access or completion questions and escalates system issues as appropriate.

Continuous Improvement and Collaboration

  • Supports initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, training participation, and HR service delivery.
  • Collaborates with departments to ensure employees are informed of required training and HR initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organizational development, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1–3 years of human resources, administrative, or operations experience required.
  • Experience supporting HR programs, employee training coordination, or HR systems preferred.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit, healthcare, or mission-driven organization preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience working with HRIS, payroll systems, or learning management systems preferred.
  • Comfort using data reports and spreadsheets to track information.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred but not required.
