Music Teacher at Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School – Allentown, Pennsylvania

Overview:

Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School is seeking a passionate and skilled Music Teacher to provide high-quality music instruction to students in grades K–12. The Music Teacher will be responsible for developing students’ understanding and appreciation of music through a variety of teaching methods, including vocal, instrumental, and music theory instruction. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, self-expression, and a love for music while aligning lessons with Pennsylvania academic standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement engaging music curriculum for elementary, middle, and high school students

- Teach general music, choir, and/or instrumental music depending on school needs and candidate expertise

- Plan and lead performances, concerts, and other music-related events throughout the school year

- Encourage students to explore different genres, instruments, and cultural perspectives in music

- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students

- Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

- Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and parents to support student development

- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessments

- Integrate technology and other innovative tools into music instruction when appropriate

- Participate in school-wide events, professional development, and team meetings

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field required
- Valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or II Certification in Music (K–12)
- Previous teaching experience preferred, especially in a school setting
- Proficiency in a variety of musical instruments and vocal techniques
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to foster student creativity and engagement through music
- Clearances: FBI fingerprints, PA state background check, child abuse history clearance, and a physical examination
