Imperial Trading Co., LLC is looking for a highly motivated Receiving Clerk to join the Elmwood, LA Warehouse Team! The Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in the transportation and warehousing industry by ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately processed and recorded. This position is responsible for inspecting and verifying the quality and quantity of goods received, which directly impacts inventory management and overall operational efficiency. The Receiving Clerk will collaborate with various departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure that all products are stored correctly and safely. SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

As assigned: All functions and procedures related to Receiving, Put-a-way and Replenishment of any and all items received from inbound carriers for the purpose of distribution or company use; Qualified applicants must be certified and able to operate a Forklift or other variation of a Powered Industrial Truck.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Additional duties, which are necessary to carry out the function of the Receiving Clerk, may be assigned and are incorporated by reference into this job description.

  • Responsible for receipt of all carriers for delivery to proper party or area;
  • Account for all merchandise on bill of lading against purchase order;
  • Responsible for modifications on receiving documents by the number of products received versus that which was ordered and communicating errors such as UPC errors to Supervisor and/or Inventory Control;
  • Responsible for using radio frequency terminal to record receiving, put-a-way, and replenishment operations into the computer system;
  • Responsible for accurate receipt and placement of all products and for reporting errors or differences to the proper party;
  • Responsible for noting and entering on Radio Frequency the expiration dates, quantity and difference of quantity on products placed or left in stock positions;
  • Document amount of merchandise entering receiving area;
  • Document amount of damaged or short date or out of date merchandise;
  • Sign bill of lading, nothing damages, overages or shorts;
  • Inspect merchandise for damage, short dates or out of dates on inbound shipments.
  • Request permission form Category manager before receiving any merchandise not called for on the purchase order;
  • Notify buyer of any back orders, shortages or damages immediately;
  • File all paperwork properly by the end of the day;
  • Reports to work on time, as directed by the Warehouse 1st Shift Supervisor and completes all duties in a timely manner;
  • Performs the above listed duties in a cooperative, capable manner and processes information effectively while communicating as needed in an efficient manner;
  • Responsible for communicating problems, errors, and safety issues to Supervisor;
  • Maintain the sanitation of the receiving dock;
  • Sticker merchandise with slot location tags before merchandise leaves the dock;
  • Maintain empty pallets in pallet storage area.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands of this job include moderate physical activity and performing light to strenuous activities of an administrative productive and/or technical nature that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, and use hands to touch, handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is required to talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands or arms and lift product from a floor position to a rack in excess of 5 feet tall where a stool or small ladder may be required. The employee must regularly lift up to 15 pounds. The employee must regularly lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in wet humid conditions in outdoor weather conditions. The employee must occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, near packaged tobacco products including, but not limited to, high-end cigar products located in rooms with an artificially created humid atmosphere generated by mechanical humidifiers. The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate.
