This role sits at the intersection of backend engineering, computer vision, and product innovation, powering next-generation experiences for youth sports platforms. You will design and build scalable systems that integrate computer vision capabilities into real-world, user-facing features used by millions of users. The environment is highly collaborative, working closely with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver reliable and high-performance systems. You will primarily focus on backend architecture, APIs, and data pipelines, while also contributing to frontend integrations across mobile and web. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will own end-to-end delivery of features that shape automated highlights, video insights, and sports analytics experiences. You will operate in a fast-moving, product-driven culture that values ownership, experimentation, and technical excellence. - Own the design, development, and operation of scalable backend systems, including APIs, data pipelines, and event-driven architectures powering computer vision features.
- Design and manage data schemas and high-performance queries for large-scale, data-intensive workloads.
- Integrate computer vision capabilities into production systems with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Contribute to frontend and cross-platform integrations (web, iOS, Android) to deliver seamless user-facing CV-driven experiences.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, product, design, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end feature development.
- Ensure system performance, observability, and operational excellence across production environments.
- Participate in architectural decisions and continuously improve system design and engineering practices.
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with a strong foundation in backend systems and interest in full-stack development.
- 4+ years of experience working with Node.js or similar backend technologies.
- 1+ year of experience contributing to frontend or user-facing applications (mobile experience preferred) or strong motivation to grow in this area.
- Proven experience building and integrating APIs, backend services, and data pipelines into production-grade systems.
- Strong ability to work across technical and non-technical teams in a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated adaptability, curiosity, and ability to own projects end-to-end in fast-paced settings.
- Experience leveraging AI tools for development, debugging, or productivity enhancement.
- Nice to have: exposure to computer vision or machine learning models in production systems.
- Competitive salary ranging from $180,000 to $200,000, with additional incentive compensation and equity eligibility.
