About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated eCommerce Intern to join our Digital Commerce (DTC) team. This internship is designed as a rotational program, where you will gain hands-on experience across four core functions: eCommerce Operations, Product Management, Technology, and Digital Marketing.
While all interns will rotate through each function, you will have a primary focus area aligned to your interests and strengths. This role offers exposure to the full eCommerce lifecycle from acquisition to conversion to retention while working alongside cross-functional teams to drive real business impact.
What you'll do
1. eCommerce Operations (6 weeks)
- The eCommerce Operations function is the engine that ensures the site runs smoothly, products are accurately represented, and the customer experience is seamless from browse to purchase. In this role, you will work at the intersection of merchandising, site management, and performance optimization, helping translate business strategy into flawless execution on the website.
- You will support end-to-end site operations, including product setup, collection merchandising, pricing updates, and promotional launches. This includes ensuring product data accuracy (titles, descriptions, images, variants), coordinating launch calendars, and validating that all assets are correctly deployed on-site.
- You will also assist in digital merchandising and conversion optimization, analyzing how products are displayed, how users navigate the site, and where opportunities exist to improve engagement and sales. This may include supporting homepage updates, collection sorting logic, bundling strategies, upsell placements, and subscription offers.
- A key part of the role involves monitoring site health and performance. You will help identify and troubleshoot issues such as broken links, out-of-stock visibility, pricing inconsistencies, or checkout friction. Working closely with Product and Engineering, you will escalate and track issues to resolution to minimize revenue impact.
- Additionally, you will contribute to operational analytics and reporting, tracking key KPIs such as conversion rate, average order value (AOV), revenue per session, and inventory performance. You will help turn data into actionable insights that inform merchandising decisions and promotional strategy.
- This role requires strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. It is ideal for someone interested in how strategy translates into execution and how small operational improvements can drive meaningful revenue impact.
- Rotate through each of the four departments to gain a holistic view of the eCommerce ecosystem
- Participate in cross-functional projects spanning marketing, product, and operations
- Learn key performance metrics such as CAC, LTV, conversion rate, and AOV
- Present a final capstone project with insights and recommendations to leadership
2. Product Management (2 weeks)
- Assist in defining and prioritizing product features and enhancements
- Support roadmap planning and cross-functional coordination with design and engineering
- Gather user feedback and analyze behavior to inform product decisions
- Contribute to testing, QA, and feature launches
3. Technology (2 weeks)
- Support the maintenance and optimization of the eCommerce tech stack (e.g., Shopify and integrations)
- Assist engineering teams with QA testing, bug tracking, and deployment support
- Help document workflows, system processes, and technical requirements
- Contribute to performance improvements such as site speed and reliability
4. Digital Marketing (2 weeks)
- Support campaign execution across paid media channels (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.)
- Assist with email/SMS marketing, segmentation, and lifecycle campaigns
- Analyze campaign performance and help optimize for ROI and efficiency
- Conduct competitive and market research to inform growth strategies
What You'll Learn
- End-to-end eCommerce strategy, from customer acquisition to retention
- How data informs decision-making across marketing, product, and operations
- Best practices in CRO, digital merchandising, and lifecycle marketing
- Exposure to real-world tools such as Shopify, analytics platforms, and marketing systems
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student (Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred)
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Interest in eCommerce, digital marketing, or product development
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with analytics or marketing tools is a plus
Why Join Us
