Job Title: Ultrasound Technician (Radiologic Technologist)
Job Type: Full-time
Place of Performance: Health Services Department at FCI Loretto, located at 772 Saint Joseph Street, Loretto, PA 15960.
Schedule: (1) hour sessions twice per quarter, Monday through Friday,
excluding Federal Holidays. Between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, 30 minutes.
Summary: Ladgov corporation is seeking a qualified Ultrasound Technician (Radiologic Technologist) to provide on-site diagnostic imaging services for the adult in custody (AIC) population at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Loretto, Pennsylvania. The contractor will be responsible for delivering high-quality ultrasound and echocardiogram services while supplying and maintaining all required equipment.
Requirements:
As an Ultrasound Technician (Radiologic Technologist). You must have:
- Valid professional certification in radiologic/ultrasound technology.
- Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience as an ultrasound technician.
- Graduate from an accredited ultrasound program.
- CPR certification (recognized authority such as AHA or Red Cross).
- Ability to work in a secure/correctional or controlled environment.
- Flexibility to handle delays or operational disruptions.
As an Ultrasound Technician (Radiologic Technologist), your mission is to:
- Notify referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam, so that additional views or exams can be ordered if needed.
- Coordinate transfer of patient records to ensure continuity of care.
- Work with the Clinical Director to make sure monitoring and evaluation activities are finished.
- Act as liaison between radiologist and medical staff.
- Receive training and orientation and comply with correctional techniques as they pertain to medical services.
- Develop a working knowledge of the local medical protocols.
- Wear outer protective clothing and always follow the universal precautions guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC.
- Function in other duties commensurate with an Ultrasound/Echocardiogram Technician.
- Complete all ultrasound/echocardiogram studies ordered by the medical staff.
- Prepare studies for shipment to the radiologist for interpretation.
- Assist the staff with maintenance of equipment and supplies, and notify staff when supplies are needed.
- Conduct quality assurance tests and daily maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Assist with the FDA inspections and preparation for TJC and program review as needed.
