Job Description:
Bright Vision Technologies is seeking a Retail Space Planning Analyst to support an onsite engagement with a leading retail client. This role focuses on designing store layouts and shelf arrangements (planograms) using data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in retail merchandising, space planning tools, SQL-based data analysis, and Retail Merchandising Systems (RMS). The role requires close coordination with business stakeholders and offshore teams to deliver accurate and optimized merchandising outputs.

ROLE EXPECTATION:
This role is responsible for deciding how products should be placed inside a retail store to maximize sales. The analyst uses data to determine which products should be on shelves, how much space they should get, and where they should be positioned. They build planograms and continuously adjust layouts based on product performance and business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Gather merchandising and store layout requirements from business stakeholders and translate them into actionable space planning outputs
• Design and maintain planograms, floor plans, and shelf layouts using space planning tools
• Analyze store layouts, fixtures, and shelf capacity to optimize product placement and space utilization
• Use SQL to extract, validate, and analyze sales and inventory data to support merchandising decisions
• Work with Retail Merchandising Systems (RMS) for item setup, product hierarchy, and inventory workflows
• Validate planogram outputs against business data to ensure accuracy and performance alignment
• Collaborate with offshore teams for daily work coordination, task handoffs, and delivery tracking
• Understand retail data pipelines and ensure consistency across merchandising systems.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve product placement, category performance, and store efficiency.
• Track deliverables and ensure timely, high-quality execution of all assignments.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• 3–8 years of experience in Retail Merchandising, Space Planning, or Planogram Development.
• Hands-on experience with planogram/space planning tools such as Blue Yonder (JDA), Spaceman, or Apollo.
• Strong SQL skills for data extraction, analysis, and validation.
• Experience working with Retail Merchandising Systems (RMS) such as Oracle RMS or similar.
• Understanding of store layouts, fixtures, and retail space optimization techniques.
• Experience analyzing sales, inventory, and product performance data to drive decisions.
• Exposure to ETL/data flows supporting retail analytics.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with large retail chains (grocery, big-box, or CPG environments).
• Exposure to reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience working in onsite-offshore delivery models.
