Respiratory Care -Lead Respiratory Care Practitioner Reg-UFCW(.9 FTE Nights) at EvergreenHealth – Kirkland, Washington

Wage Range: $41.43 - $69.20 per hour

Bonus:Up to $10,000 (Pro-rated by FTE) for those new to EvergreenHealth with 2+ years of Adult, Neonatal, and Pediatric Respiratory Care experience

1. Conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures to achieve maintenance of patient airways.
2. Sets priorities for respiratory care patients as needed using clinical assessment skills.
3. Collects and evaluates pertinent clinical information through assessment and patient evaluation.
4. Based on patient evaluation, determines the need for appropriate oxygen delivery devices of respiratory support.
5. Inspects chest x-rays to determine the presence and position of an artificial airway or changes in the thorax.
6. Evaluates and monitors patients response to respiratory therapy and recommends changes in parameters for oxygen delivery devices and mechanical ventilation systems, as per protocol under direction of the physician.
7. Conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures to achieve broncho-hygiene and to administer prescribed pharmacologic agents.
8. Performs assessment and treatment techniques based on patients age specific growth and development needs.
9. Performs and evaluates bedside spirometry and pulmonary mechanics.
10. Initiates, conducts, and modifies respiratory support techniques in an emergency setting.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of Washington.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Graduation from a two- or four-year Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited Respiratory Care program resulting in an Associate or Baccalaureate degree.
• Previous lead or leadership experience
• Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire
• Healthcare Provider NRP certification within 3 months of hire

• Recent experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in a Shift Lead role
• Experience in quality improvement, oversight of a process, leading a project, or participation in an interdisciplinary committee.
• Experience in Adult Critical Care
• Experience in Neonatal Critical Care
• PALS certification, ACLS Certification
• Specialty certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as an Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) or Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS)
