The Field Technician performs site visits, conducts field testing, and documents findings in support of building assessment and enclosure projects. This role works under the direction of Senior Project Managers and Project Managers to support the successful delivery of designated projects within established timelines and budgets while maintaining strong client service standards.

The Field Technician’s primary responsibility is the hands-on execution of field investigations, visual inspections, testing activities, and preparation of documentation. The role follows established project requirements, firm standards, and industry testing protocols to support project objectives.

The Field Technician may support multiple concurrent projects and is responsible for organizing and completing assigned fieldwork accurately and efficiently.



Your Impact

  • Conduct on-site investigations, visual inspections, QA visits, and field reviews as directed.
  • Perform field testing activities including, but not limited to - ASTM roof flood testing, façade assessment and testing (E1105, E1186, E779, AAMA 501.2), re-skinning observations, forensic investigation documentation, and building commissioning support.
  • Prepare draft reports of findings for review by Project Managers.
  • Document field observations, testing results, and project updates in accordance with firm standards.
  • Assist with feasibility reviews and development of project scope documentation as assigned.
  • Attend OAC meetings and site visits as requested.
  • Coordinate field activities with other Field Technicians throughout construction.
  • Collaborate with Project Coordinators during project closeout.
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of construction documents, including supporting architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents as directed.
  • Transfer redlines and field markups to design staff as needed.
  • Manage assigned fieldwork across multiple concurrent projects.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 1–3 years of building enclosure industry field experience or similar technical experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience documenting fieldwork and testing results.
  • Working knowledge of building enclosure codes and industry standards.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Customer service experience (internal and external).
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and architectural drawings.
  • Ability to read and write project-related specifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and work effectively under supervision.

  • IIBEC Certifications preferred (RRO, REWO).
  • Practical understanding of roofing, waterproofing, cladding, fenestration, and barrier systems.
  • Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented and safety-focused mindset.
  • Highly organized with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team environment.
