Teradata Data Warehouse Architect at VentureDive

Job Brief
We are looking for a Teradata Data Warehouse Architect to oversee the design and optimization of an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) for a strategic KSA digital transformation project. The ideal candidate will be an expert in MPP (Massively Parallel Processing) architecture and large-scale data modeling for regulatory reporting (RegTech).

Key Responsibilities:

• Architectural Design: Lead the design of complex relational and dimensional data models (Star/Snowflake) tailored for government-level KPIs and statistics.
• System Optimization: Perform advanced performance tuning using TASM (Teradata Active System Management) and analyze "Explain" plans to eliminate processing bottlenecks.
• Hadoop Integration Mastery:
  - Design and implement Teradata QueryGrid fabrics to enable cross-platform analytics between Teradata and Hadoop (Hive/HDFS).
  - Expertise in TDCH (Teradata Connector for Hadoop) for high-speed, bi-directional data movement.
  - Ability to architect "Federated Queries" that minimize data egress from the Hadoop environment.
• ETL Leadership: Direct the development of high-speed data loading scripts using TPT (Teradata Parallel Transporter),FastLoad, and MultiLoad.
• Data Strategy: Ensure the warehouse architecture supports Regulatory Technology (RegTech) indicators, focusing on data accuracy and auditability.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 8+ years in Data Warehousing, with 5+ years specifically in Teradata Vantage or 16.x/17.x environments.
• Advanced SQL: Mastery of Teradata-specific SQL extensions, BTEQ scripting, and stored procedures
• Tools: Hands-on experience with Teradata Studio, Viewpoint, and BAR (Backup, Archive, and Restore) solutions.
• Domain Knowledge: Understanding of data classification and residency requirements relevant to the KSA public sector.
