The LabVIEW Software Engineer will support the space program located in Houston, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement software for design, development, test, and certification of flight hardware.
- Gather and analyze requirements.
- Design and develop data acquisition systems for test rigs.
- Test and debug software issues.
- Coordinate test activities and requirements with NASA test facilities.
- Support test setup and execution.
- Develop testing and operations documentation.
- Coordinate software development with other disciplines.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary technical reviews.
- Other duties as assigned.

- This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
- Must have a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering.
- Must have 2+ years of recent and related work experience.
- Requires space industry or DoD work experience.
- Experience with NI LabVIEW for system control, system test, data storage and analysis.
- Experience with CompactRIO RT/FPGA platform.
- Experience with LabVIEW object Oriented Programming (LVOOP).
- Experience with Git for source code control.
- Experience with C/C++ coding in a Linux environment.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
DESIRED:
- Familiarity with NASA/JSC organizations, processes, and procedures.
- Prior experience with spaceflight system development.
- Experience with system interface requirements.
- Experience with common communication protocols (RS232, RS422/485, 1553, USB).
- Knowledge of web application frameworks such as ASP.NET.
WORK LOCATION:
- This position is located onsite and offers a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off; some travel may be required.
- Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:

DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED:
All Bastion employees must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and are required to participate in periodic random drug and alcohol screenings.
STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.
- All of Bastion's employees must be team players with strong work ethics and must be culture oriented.
- Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.
- Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.
- Must be organized with good time management skills and must be able to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
- Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
- Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
