About This Position
IT Operations Manager
The IT Operations Manager is a senior individual contributor responsible for stabilizing, securing, and evolving Last Energys IT operational foundation. This role focuses on hands-on execution across infrastructure, identity, endpoint management, and operational processes, enabling the IT function to scale securely in a high-growth, regulated environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities- Own day-to-day IT operations across infrastructure, identity, endpoints, and core systems, ensuring reliability, security, and scalability
- Design, implement, and improve foundational IT systems - including cloud environments, on-prem infrastructure, endpoint management, and identity access controls
- Drive operational maturity through documentation, runbooks, onboarding/offboarding workflows, and access review processes
- Partner with IT leadership on security control implementation, incident response, and automation initiatives to reduce risk and manual effort
- 8+ years of IT experience, ideally in technically complex, startup-like environments
- Strong background in IT operations and systems administration across mixed environments (cloud, on-prem, Mac, and Windows)
- Hands-on experience with identity and access management, MFA enforcement, endpoint management, and securing shared services
- Ability to independently research, design, and deploy technical solutions in rapidly scaling environments
- Proven ability to manage multiple parallel initiatives while maintaining operational stability
- Experience operating in regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g., SOC 2, export controls, or public-company readiness) is a plus
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, including hybrid or transitional architectures, is a plus
- Scripting or automation experience to streamline IT operations and reduce manual processes is a plus
- Prior experience helping IT functions scale during periods of rapid organizational growth is a plus
